Dr. Elston began his career as a physical chemist and a former US Naval Nuclear Engineer. While serving as a lieutenant on the USS Theodore Roosevelt he specialized in chemical and radiological safety. Following graduate school he specialized in reactive chemical safety, chemical and radiological exposure control and general industrial hygiene.
His many professional publications include serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Chemical Health & Safety from 1999-2019. He has won the Howard Fawcett Chemical Health and Safety Award from the Division of Chemical Health and Safety of the American Chemical Society and is a Fellow of the American Chemical Society.

Harry J. Elston PhD, CIH, PMP
Dr. Elston has helped facilities like yours build innovative, field-ready solutions to safety challenges since founding Midwest Chemical Safety in 1996. Dr. Elston is the go-to authority for preventative and corrective chemical and occupational measures.
